So I met a buddy at a family owne pizza shop.
They had a digital picture frame on the wall, that rotated cool pictures of customers and events. It was really nice to see some of the pics, everyone was happy.
Owner says it was one of his best ideas, at a low cost. he takes pics and updates frame easily.
Was thinking that a shop could do that. Take a picture of a satisfied customer with their shinny car, and easily load them into the digital frame
What think?

Reply with quote | #2 | Jim Goguen has been doing this in his shop for a couple years...last time we spoke he was very pleased with the results and "conversations" the photos have started and maybe Jim will pop in and provide us some direct input on this topic.
Within another business we are involved within...one of our clients has put an "interactive center" in which allows their patients to watch the organizations various video's while in the office.
If you are not doing some sort of video within your business...you are behind the times...and with this market few can afford to be behind by much.

Reply with quote | #3 | We partnered with an auto repair facility last winter and put one of these units in their waiting area. We got a lot of responses!
Also, when I get into my shop, I was planing on putting together a slide show for a flat screen in the lobby. Some of these already have the capability, however, if it doesn't, you can still a plug in unit to display a slide show on any tv.

My company has been doing this for several years but on a larger scale using LCD monitors anywhere from 26" to as big as 60" installing as little as 1 up to 400 in places such as casinos, stadiums, amphitheaters, office buildings, etc. that speak to the public and their customers alike. This is a fantastic way of delivering your companies message and more.
The small picture frame monitors are nice as well. I've come across a few being used in the last couple of months. One in a window tinting shop that had great before and after pic's in a slide show and once in Florida on vacation last month in a detail shop.
Both were nice however, in both of those shops the frame monitors were hung but the electrical cord was just hanging down the wall and plugged into a standard 18" AF A/C outlet of which didn't look clean in the least and thought it portrayed a bad image on both shops.

Reply with quote | #5 | Excellent ... no such thing as original thought.
Should have figured the thought leaders would have had something like this.
First time I saw it, really enjoyed it.

Jim as Renny said i did this a few years ago after working on th AFO project and added other pictures.
I also plan to add in a couple of sign blanks such as paint sealant offered, chip repair, fabic guard and such.
When I first set this up my 15" picture fram was about $200.00 but seeing how lcd tv's have dropped in price i'm thinking of upgradeing to a 26" or so with a dvd player to run the clips.
the other nice thing is when customers show up after hours they get a chance to see some of our work. so far this has worked well for us.
