Reply with quote | #1 | I had to send in my Desiderio steamer in for repair (under warranty) and it cost me not including shipping $170.00 for repair. I questioned the charges and it seemed to me he was getting angry with me because I didn't understand the way they did business.
So I pay and get my machine back and upon inspection of the unit I notice the exhaust filter mounting bracket is missing and I cant put the filter back on. So I call the rep back to let him know it's missing and am asked to take a picture of the piece that's missing and email it to him, I said yes and hung up. After thinking about it In the 100 plus degree heat I call back to ask why do you need a picture, he replies so I can see what it looks like and or see if it's broken. So I tell him I told you what is missing can't you look @ one of the units you have in stock, I am very busy and don,t have time for this after all I just got it back from you guys. @ this point I think this guy I screwing with me and dragging this out to F with me but what can I do so I have to do it.
I think about it some more and am very pissed of so I call back to try to speak with some one else and I get him again. So I tell him look you and I just for what ever reason do not mesh and ask to speak with some one else and am told there is no one else here right now, so I ask for a name of any one else so when I call back I can ask for them. He tells me there is no one else. I inform him I understand you are alone right know I just need the name of your manager so I can call him back, he replies the answer is no one.
I was dumb founded I could not believe the service I was receiving after making a $1400.00 purchase, paid $170.00 for repairs on a unit about 5 or 6 months old.
I am one of the first to say listen to real world experience and on this one I didn't. I just had to vent. but I will not do business with vapor clean again fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me.

Reply with quote | #2 | Vapor Clean CS is terrible. I need to order a couple of attachments from them and don't want to. I would rather buy a new machine from some one else. I have had it out with these people on the phone. The lady who owns the place is a real *@#%&. Just because of there attitude and the way they treat you after you buy a machine Vapor Clean SUCKS!

Reply with quote | #5 | I have two TR6s in need of repair... last experience with them (warranty work) took SIX WEEKS. I'm not sure it is worth the time and trouble (and $$$) to send them back.
What sort of shop should I look for locally to service them? My extractor repair facility?

Reply with quote | #6 | Jim, I would make a couple calls around town. I don't know what to say.
For as much use and abuse my steamer gets it has held up well. Too bad that Vapor Clean only wants to service people that have money in hand that want to buy one of there units. You can really tell a lot about a company and the CS after you purchase from them.

Reply with quote | #8 | Same here, I have to order some attachment pieces but don't want to. hopefully nobody from ebay will read this so I can sell it.
I work part time for FedEx at the airport and get great rates, I thought of paying them a visit but it's not worth the energy.
Live and learn.

Any electrical repair shop should be able to repair it. Not much to a Vapor steamer. |

Reply with quote | #10 | I have a desiderio that I sent in for warranty repair When it returned it still did not work, so told me to ship it back to them. Well I got the machine back the second time still not working properly with a bill for about $250. It was still under warranty but they said I did something to void warranty. Although no one could tell me what I did to void warranty. After dealing with their absolutely terrible customer service and a steamer that still did not work I just told them I would never pay the bill. The pos is just sitting in the corner of the shop since i bought two much better units that actually work.

Reply with quote | #11 | I purchased a Vapor Master from Renny Doyle a couple of years ago. It has been an awesome and very reliable machine. I just sent it in for cleaning and to have a minor repair made...it could not have been easier. Renny sent me a loner machine (at no charge, just had to pay for shipping) while mine was being serviced. His service provider was very easy to work with and very reasonably priced. Got it back..works great and just sent the loner off.
Moral of the story, it pays to go with the best equipment and providers. Saves time, money and headaches in the long run. Thanks again, Renny.
I've never been a fan of the Desiderio. I would rather invest in three separate pieces of equipment that were the best in their respective areas than to purchase a single machine that provides mediocre results in multiple areas. Just my opinion.

Reply with quote | #13 | You might want to contact Kevin Farrell on the East Coast. He has been promoting the use of this particular brand of vapor steamer and I believe has a relationship with the company to sell them.
He might be able to help you get parts, warranty and better service.
These are some of the reasons why you need to purchase equipment from a real live, see, feel and touch person/company, rather than on the internet.
They are in business to make money, not develop relationships. It ia all about volume, not necessarily repeat business.
Just a thought.

Reply with quote | #14 | Bud, Vapor Clean is all about volume. They even try and jerk Kevin around. He has sold so many units for these people. They used to have a link to my site where I had a video of the TR6 in use. They also took a positive comment I made about the unit off of mobile works and posted it as a testimonial. I would get calls from house wifes asking me how I liked the machine. After the treatment I received from them I ask that they remove the link and the testimonial. The owner got really nasty with me for this.

We have been utilizing steamers for nearly a decade within our detailing efforts. Over twenty brands later we located our current steamer of choice which was our original unit and we are so confident in these units, we even provide loaners when you need to have yours serviced as Matt so kindly pointed out.
We are brand loyal only if that brand performs and can back up that performance with solid engineering. Our service center of choice also plays a roll within the confidence we have for the units we offer, use and swear by!
We basically beat the crap out of the units we purchase to test...some only last weeks, others months, some a year or so and the units we import will last for years or in our case...a decade. We still maintain and use the original unit we started out with a decade ago...while the design has changed some the principles and engineering remain the high point of the unit.
In addition to offering a steamer unit, we build the hose on our system in-house which is the only heavy duty hose that we know of on the market today.
We studied steamers in depth over the years and believe me...I lived through the horror of trying to have a number of these less then professional units repaired and this is why year after year we have purchased, used and now import our brand of choice. So we are far more then just a supplier of steamers...we use, test and evaluate steamers on a regular basis and keep coming back to our original unit that has served us so well and is doing the same for many of you.
